Hanwood comfortably see off Donnington
Hanwood comfortably saw off Donnington Wood by 36 shots tonight to set up a final clash with Archibald Worthington on Friday at Allscott starting at 7 p.m. Hanwood led by 33 off four and never looked back as Wayne Phillips won 10 and Tony Hotchkiss 8 as they maintained their lead despite only having another 3 winners. Donnington did take 3 winners in the middle but this only reduced the deficit to 32 and once joint captain Ash Wellings came off winning 8 it was all over. Ifton beat champs, Bayley earn home advantage, Hadley earn first Premier final and Burway make another one.
Ifton beat the champions Newport tonight in the Pool A Semi Finals by 11 shots on Meole Brace and will meet Sir John Bayley on their top green on Friday 9th October after they beat Meole Brace by 32 on Chester Road. In the Pool B Hadley USC edged out Wrockwardine Wood by 10 on Bowring and Burway beat Wem USC by 42 on the Bylet and will meet each other in the Pool B final on Sir John Bayley’s bottom green. Both will start at 7.15 p.m.
