There was more success for Callum Wraight this weekend at the Bowring Open where 7 out of the last 8 were Flowfit Shropshire Premier Bowling League bowlers. Callum beat Premier League Averages winner Rob Burroughs in the final 17, recovering from 7-1 down to win the £500 first prize and retain the trophy. In the semis he blew away Warwick and Worcester’s Stewart Meddings 6 whilst Rob beat last year’s league averages winner 11. In the quarters Callum had beaten League President and Sir John Bayley captain Tom Roden 13, Rob beat Wrockwardine Wood’s former averages winner Martin Williams 14, Scott beat St George’s Jason Wilson 11 and Stewart edged out another former averages winner, Newport’s Chris Grocott 19.
