Comments:

Bylet achieved what they set out to do which was to avoid another playoff in October by finishing in 13th place, needing to be 15 points better off from last season, with new signing Rob Steventon playing a significant part in achieving this. They didn’t start well, scoring 2 at home to Meole Brace and 0 at Newport, but their first win came at home to Wem USC 7-7 by 8 chalks in their 4th game. They fought back against Sir John Bayley but narrowly lost by 2, which they did against Burway too. Their biggest win of the season came away at their main rivals Archibald Worthington, winning 8-6 by just one chalk which proved very significant. But only one home win, a 9-5 win over Wrockwardine Wood, in their next seven games meant they were still in trouble. But after they beat Chester Road at home 9-5, they won their next three home games, including against rivals Archibald Worthington to move ahead of them. But going into the last game after getting 2 at Castlefields they were 7 points adrift of them and needing a big home win over Hadley USC to get them out of trouble. However they achieved this by beating them 12-2 and finishing 3 points ahead of 14th place, much to the delight of the team and captain Mick Harries.

In the Alan Mayhew they lost first round to Newport by 56 away and 9 at home, and losing to Hadley USC by 31 on St Georges bottom green in the 1st round of the Pool B.
