Tomorrow is the finals day of the 2016 Coors Meole Brace Open starting at 11:30. Despite it being a Premier League club only 7 Flowfit Shropshire Premier League players have made finals day. Kiah Roberts is first on against Paul Kissock of Lindal and then former Meole player Wayne Phillips takes on David O’Brien of Castle Private. In the next quarter Rich Lawson of Bowring plays former St Georges player Paul Bailey of Meersbrook Park, former winner Callum Wraight plays Andy Hodgson of Pudsey and Hanwood’s Greg Smith has a tasty first round game with Tommy Johnstone of Poynton. Scott Simpson plays a Shropshire player in Kevin Farr from Old Shrewsbury, while Mike Beer rounds off the premier players taking on Steven Lewis from Moor Lane.
Also of note is Barry Booth being the oldest qualifier aged 73 years young, while possibly for the first time a father and son have qualified for finals day, Chris and Josh Mordue of Pudsey.
