Taylor Support Shropshire Premier Bowls League
Meole Brace today qualified for the BCGBA World Club Championships at Fox Lane Leyland. They beat New Brighton Quarry Vikings from Merseyside by 39 in the first game, Darren Wellings winning 3 and Martin Middleton winning 8 as they had 5 winners out of the 8. In the 2nd round they met Dudley Dell from Staffordshire, a team containing 2 Hadley USC players, by 26 chalks. Doug Edwards won 4 in the first four but they trailed by 1 chalks with a 9 and 13 loser. However they took the whole of the back four led by Darren Wellings and Bill Tarrell both winning 12.
They have drawn Kings Heath Park from Warwick and Worcester, a team that qualified on the other green today.
Castlefields played in it three weeks ago but lost first round to Florence by 22.
