2016 Black Tech Ltd Alan Mayhew Trophy Final Preview

The 2016 Black Tech Ltd Alan Mayhew Trophy Final is tonight between two fierce rivals, Castlefields and Meole Brace. Both teams will be desperate to beat the other but will also be wanting to win the Alan Mayhew Trophy for different reasons. Castlefields to move ahead of St Georges on 6 wins as the record holder of the trophy, and Meole Brace to finally win a trophy in the Premier League. Quality players are on both sides, 9 current county players are taking part altogether. The first four sees four of them clash, Warwick and Worcester’s Jon Palmer for Castlefields taking on Meole’s Colin Beaman, while at number 3 Paul Williams plays Darren Wellings in what promises to be a quality clash. Castlefields have a youthful middle four, with Mike Beer playing Ade Rowe looking like being a key clash at number 5. Julian Cooke, after his 6 win on Chester Road in the Semi Finals, will have his hands full against Rich Goddard at number 6. At the back Callum Wraight, fresh from losing in the Isle of Man Trophy Final yesterday, takes on Doug Edwards at number 10 while the two Andy’s meet at 9, Duckett and Wigginton.

It promises to be an absolute cracker down at Bicton at 7 p.m. so come on down and watch some quality action, and if it’s like last year’s Alan Mayhew Trophy Final, then it will be quite a night! There will also be a 12 page programme available free of charge subject to availability. There is also a man of the match award for a bottle of champagne, while there will be food afterwards in the club.
