Three Re-arranged Games this Week!

There are three big rearranged games this week, all played in Telford.

Tuesday 9th August: Sir John Bayley v St Georges

A big game for both teams tonight as they look to close the gap on the top two. Sir John Bayley are currently 11 behind the leaders so will be looking to for a good home win to make ground. Captain Spencer Clarke says “St. Georges are a side packed with quality players, who know our green very well, so it will be a good test for the lads however it’s important we get another good result to remain in the mix. We played well on Friday so a repeat performance would be ideal, especially as we enter the business end of the season where every points counts!” St Georges have three games this week, and know they have been off the pace in recent weeks when well placed at the start of July. They are 16 off the leaders at the moment so know they need a good away performance to gain some momentum again and close the gap as much as possible.

Wednesday 10th August: Wrockwardine Wood v St Georges

St Georges face another tough game tomorrow night as they make the short distance over to Wrockwardine Wood. They have done well there in recent years though, winning twice and scoring 5 and 6 the other times so will be looking for at least this to close the gap at the top. Wrockwardine though will be confident after their away win at Hadley USC on Friday. Captain Tom Langford is expecting “a tasty match against the Dragons, as always. They have been playing well and I know captain Rhodes will be hungry for a win here to boost their chances of winning the league. But with the weather warming up and “the wicket” quickening the Wrockites are certainly up for it! We have been playing strong as a team for weeks now. Whatever the outcome we welcome the Dragons through the fortress gates and the game and the atmosphere will be great so a good game is to be had!”

Thursday 11th August: Hadley USC v Bylet

Hadley USC are in last chance saloon after their poor 10-4 loss against Wrockwardine Wood. They find themselves 15 points behind the visitors and only know that a big win will get them close to them. Hadley spokesman Rob Burroughs comments “we need a massive win on Thursday to have any chance of finishing off bottom spot. It’s been a struggle this season and apart from the two games against Wem USC not many good results. But still 6 games left and 72 points to play for so not over yet!” Bylet know a good haul at Hadley will mean they will finish above bottom spot and avoid the dreaded Playoff this season.
