Pool A Final – Chester Road v Meole Brace on Bowring Premier Green

Meole Brace are looking to add their second silverware of the season after winning the Black Tech Ltd Alan Mayhew Trophy earlier in the season against Castlefields while Chester Road are back in their first final since 2012 when they reached the final of the Alan Mayhew Trophy. Both teams suffered contrasting fortunes in the league, Chester Road improved by 42 points to finish 4th while after four years of being runners up Meole Brace finished 6th. Chester Road captain Paul Fowles says “we are looking forward to the game we were at one time in finals all the time so it will be nice to play in one again. We are looking to win to round off a very good season but we will be up for it against a good team.”

Pool B Final – Bowring v Ifton on Bowring Non-Premier Green

Ifton are looking at joining Wrockwardine Wood on 5 wins in the Pool B but face another home team, just like the Bayley last season in the Pool A Final, in the Bowring. However the other Bowring green doesn’t quite have the same advantage as the Bayley top green but skipper Dickie Jones comments “it will be a big ask to beat them on their own green. They will start favourites but we will try our best to cause an upset. We have Leighton Roberts and Rocky Jones unavailable which is unfortunate for us.” Bowring captain Rich Lawson says it is “a game we’re very much looking forward to, it’s nice to be part of the final especially as it’s at our club. We’ll need to be at our best as Ifton will have a strong eight but hopefully with home advantage I’m hoping we can achieve the win and end the season on a high!”

A buffet follows these finals at about 9.15 p.m. then the Presentation Evening will start about 9.30 p.m.
