The October Meeting took place tonight and below is a summary of what took place:
- We are still trying to find someone suitable to be Deputy President for the League, who satisfies the following condition – The President must have been an active member of their League Executive Committee, for a minimum of three years prior to election. If anyone is able to satisfy that condition and is interested please let any of the League Officers know.
- Mike Potter has kindly donated the PA system that had been trialled at the Playoff matches and the Presentation Evening to the league and we appreciate him doing so.
- A new rule to be written about the Most Improved Team only being allowed to teams that played in the Previous Season to be put to the AGM.
- A rule about fixtures only allowed to be brought forward instead only if both teams agree to be put to the AGM to replace the old Concessions rule.
- No shorts allowed to be worn at any time, even in “hot” weather.
- At least one life member to be inducted at an AGM if their services are deserved worthy.
- Officer Specifications to be placed on the website over the coming weeks.
- A new County Programme Advert to be made to replace the old one.
- A memento to be given to players who have won the league, could be medals or towels etc.
- MVPs to be stopped.
- Alan Mayhew Trophy to be played later in the year to avoid clashes with other competitions.
- Pool A/B to be top 7 and bottom 7 instead of top 6 and bottom 8 if approved at the AGM.
- Pre-playoffs to have an entry fee with programme like the Playoff Final this season.
- League Merit to be played on Sunday 23rd April at possibly Craven Arms.
- Doubles to be played on Saturday 7th October at possibly Hadley USC.
- Competitions and playoffs to follow same rules if it ends in a draw, players will go on 11up, how many depending on the competition.
- League to start on Wednesday 5th April and finish on Friday 15th September 2017
- The Presentation Evening to be decided on a rota basis if changed at the AGM. As Chester Road, Wrockwardine Wood and Castlefields have not hosted it before, they would be voted on at the AGM to decide the order they would go in. Others would go in order of when they last hosted it.
