Team 9: Burway

Burway entered the Premier League in 2012 after finally winning their fourth attempt at reaching the Flowfit Shropshire Premier League by beating Hadley USC in a thrilling playoff by 6 shots at Archibald Worthington. They’ve not looked back since then, finishing 7th in their debut season and also reaching the semi final of the Alan Mayhew but topped that all by winning the Pool B final against Ifton again at Archibald Worthington. Wayne Rogers also won the Neville Edwards Trophy for the most wins in a season to make it a debut season to remember. In their second season they reached the Pool B final again, but lost to Wrockwardine Wood. However they finished 7th again, finishing with 4 points more. In 2015 they had an excellent home record despite a late 10-4 home loss to Wrockwardine Wood but their away form restricted them to 9th place and 180 points, around the same point mark as the previous two seasons. But it was the cup competitions again where they shone, reaching both finals of the Alan Mayhew Trophy and Pool B. Both finals were extremely close going to the last game, losing by one to Newport in the Mayhew but beating Hadley USC by 3 in the Pool B final to continue their outstanding record in it. But they didn’t reach the final in 2016, nor the Alan Mayhew and finished in their lowest position of 10th, despite having a similar points haul to previous seasons.
