Callum wins at Severnside Again

Callum Wraight of Castlefields has continued winning competitions at Severnside, after his triumph in the Lew Page there last November, by winning the Consolation event last Sunday. He beat Ian Formstone of Gresford Colliery 20 in the final on the Ponderosa, after beating Ifton’s Megis Phillips 11 in the Semi Finals, while Castlefields’  Daryl Edwards was Ian’s victim in the other Semi 19. New Wrockwardine Wood signing Dan Taylor lost in the Quarter Finals to Callum 14 and Callum’s team mate Elliott McGuinness narrowly dipped out to Ian in the Quarters 20.

In the main and Scott Simpson of Sir John Bayley reached the furthest of all the SPBL players making the Semi Finals before losing to Nathan Dawes 12. His team mate Tom Roden also lost to Nathan in the last 8 while new team mate Rob Burroughs lost 16 to Paul Fellows. Doug Edwards of Meole Brace reached the last 8 as well losing to eventual winner Matt Fellows 12.

The next competition is this Sunday at 10 a.m. With less than 7 weeks to the first league game its perfect practice to get your arm going!
