Taylor Support Shropshire Premier Bowls League
For Advent this year we look back at the 24 years of the Shropshire Premier Bowling League ahead of our 25th season in 2018.
It’s first season was in 1994 when 12 teams took up the inaugural season of the league. Battlefield were the first winners winning the league by 8 points to Chester Road. Terry Gray won his first 18 games but did not win the League Averages as Alan Jones beat him to it by winning 19 games as well but with a higher aggregate by 23. However the Most Consecutive Wins Award was brought in and so Terry was the first winner of this. Peter Farmer won the inaugural Merit for the John Coxill Trophy beating Ian Lealand in the final. Wrockwardine Wood struggled for players in their inaugural season so finished rock bottom.
