Fields go top, Hanmer earn good win, Bowring win big

Castlefields are now top of the Salop Leisure Shropshire Premier Bowling League after beating Bylet 12-2 in Gameweek 21, delighting skipper Alan Peach. “It feels pretty good to be on top but we know it can change quickly. Bowring earned a welcome home win as they beat Chester Road 11-3. Captain Rich Lawson commented on “a hard earned home victory for us. Solid wins for myself and Ash Gregory, while Dave Lloyd played excellent winning to 3 (to be best winner). For Chester Road Paul Fowles played superb winning to 17 as did Andy Smith who won 16. A few of the games could have gone either way. Reece Farr had a great game against Gary Beff winning 19, Jamie King in another quality game edging out Paul Griffiths 18, Ben Mellor battling back from 19-15 down to win 20 against Mark Holland, Martin Gaut had a real tussle winning 18 against Steve Rogers and Brian Jarvis running out from 17-15 down to beat Andy Moss. Had those games gone the other way then it would have been a very different result, but all credit to my lads for hanging in there, battling back and giving us a good home win.” Martin Lloyd was best winner for the visitors 12.
