Anthony Bracken proved he is still a class act as he won the 2018 George Masters. He beat Michael Lynch in the final 21 after defeating Sir John Bayley team mate Scott Simpson 28 in the Semi Final. Scott had beaten Callum Wraight of Castlefields in the Quarters 28 after getting past Chris Bergin 30 in the 1st round, while Callum beat favourite Ross Dunkley 23. Paul Evans won his first game 23 against Matt Horton before losing out to Lynch 24. In the first two rounds Ant had beaten Derek Wright of Wem USC 13, and then Darren Plenderleith 17. Martin Lloyd lost first round 12 to Carl Fielding.
Bylet’s Scott Harries enjoyed a great run to the Semi Finals of the Centenary Mixed Pairs with Cheryl Caswell, defeating holders Graeme & Catherine Wilson in the Quarter Finals on the way.
