Sir John Bayley won a thriller at Bylet against Wrockwardine Wood by just 3 chalks. League Secretary Martin Gaut was an enthralled spectator. “There was superb bowling from Scott Simpson for a 21-11 win. Alex Jones led 16-2 before a well spirited recovery from Liam Stevens meant he came back but Alex finished the 21-15 winner. Solid 15 & 18 wins from Stuart Clee & Sally King respectively limited Sir John Bayley’s lead to 7 shots after four games. Rob Roden played well to beat Chris Worthington 21-13. Two closely fought games saw Kane Beaman win 17 and Scott Moseley win 19. This left the final game on the green, 19-17 to Tom Roden, with SJB 1 shot up. Whoever won this game would declare victory for their team. Steve Broome got back to 19 across then Tom Roden won the last two ends to get the win for himself and his team.” It will be a repeat of the 2015 Pool A final as Ifton beat Hanwood by 21 on Sir John Bayley.
