Rhos BC are the team who are not allowed to enter now as they have not been affiliated to the SCGBA for 10 years or have any floodlights. (this could always change though in another 10 years!) They entered the playoffs twice, the first year in 2003 when they lost to Newport by 16 chalks in the pre-playoff at Meole Brace, even though they led by 2 after 8 games off. In 2004 they went one better, beating Bylet by 10 despite being 7 down off 8, captain Geraint Evans leading the way with an 8 card. This meant they took on Archibald Worthington in the final at Meole Brace. They trailed by 11 after the first four but Trevor Roberts won 4 and Martin Jones 11 to put them 13 ahead. However they trailed by 4 after 8 games and with Gerwyn Davies winning 17 to level the scores they were in with a shout. But two losses meant they lost the game by 13. The rule was changed at the AGM the year after so they haven’t been able to enter since.
