Castlefields bow out at first hurdle

Castlefields put up a good fight but just lost out to local side Lower Hopton today. They found themselves just three down after four games off with Jon Palmer winning 11 and Rich Goddard 17. They then were seven up as Mike Beer won 11, but Rob Hitchen won 7 for Lower Hopton which meant Adie Rowe’s 19 win was in vain as they lost by 11. Esclusham had several Ifton players in their side as well as Iuean Pugh of Hanmer but lost out by 18 to Tixall, while M&B Cheslyn Hay had five of our players in their side with Chris Ward of Sir John Bayley their only winner 14.
