Scott reaches Final of Champs!

Scott Simpson reached the final of the 2019 BCGBA Champion of Champions in extremely wet conditions before losing out to Colin Kelly 10. The Sir John Bayley man was excellent throughout the day, along with his team mate Spencer Clarke, before both came up against a player more familiar with the wet conditions, which meant that “cobbing” was the order of the day. He beat Callum Sharples 7, Jamie King of Wrockwardine Wood 7, who beat Gary Owen 15 first round, Graeme Wilson 14 and Josh Towey 18 after being behind in both. Spencer had been even more impressive in defeating Mark Hughes 9, Steve Morrey 5 and Ryan Prosser 6, before the rain came and he lost out 11 to Colin Kelly. Callum Wraight of Castlefields had won his first game 10 versus Paul Dale, but lost to Graeme Wilson 19.
