On this day in 2017 there were a few shock results. The biggest shock was Bylet’s 8-6 win at St Georges, their first ever win there, led by ex-St Georges player Scott Harries winning 8. Castlefields won at Newport 10-4 in a result that went a long way to helping them regain the title. Bowring won 14-0 at home to Hanmer, by 132, their biggest ever win in the league. Hanwood also had a big 13-1 win over Chester Road, while Meole Brace were missing some key players, but won at Ifton with 5 winners. Wrockwardine Wood edged out the Champions Sir John Bayley in a close game 9-5, while Burway defeated Wem USC 10-4.
