Sad News

It was with great sadness that league learnt of the passing of Phil Clee of Wrockwardine Wood BC yesterday. Phil was the backbone of Wrockwardine Wood holding many positions including being the groundsman keeping the greens in fantastic condition. He was a great competitor on the greens but without doubt he was a true gent on the greens as well as off them. A fact that is supported by the many kind words already written by fellow players across the county. Before the days of the internet Phil played a pivotal role in collecting all the results on a Friday night from all team captains and reporting these to Radio Shropshire so that we would all know what had happened the night before. The league sends its deepest condolences to Stuart and Sally and the wider family at this difficult time.
