It was the start that made their season, beating Hanwood then winning 13-3 at Highley in their first away game and then again at Wem USC in their next away game. They suffered a shock defeat at Bylet, but then bounced back at home to Meole Brace to win 13-1. They had a tough run at the end of the first half but won at nearest rivals Castlefields 11-5, beat last year’s Champions Sir John Bayley 11-3, won at Hanwood 12-4 and whitewashed Highley to make it a case of when rather than if. They maintained their form to the end of the season, and a 11-5 win at 2019 & 2021 Champions Sir John Bayley sealed most of the records.
