Coors Meole Open Session 1 Review

Qualifiers:

Darrell Handley defeated Gareth W Hughes 17 in a very close game which Gareth edged 11-8 before Darrell went 13-11 up. It was nip and tuck before Darrell had a couple of scoring ends twice towards the end to win 17.

Dan Bodley and Gareth P Hughes had another close game despite Dan being 10-3 and 13-8 up early on. Gareth then went 15-13 up before Dan replied to go 18-16 up and at 19 across scored 2 to get through.

Lee Brown led John Bailey 10-4 before John got back to 10-9. However Lee went 16-9 up and maintained this advantage to win 14.

Dan Jones was 8-3 and 12-5 ahead of Chris Marshman and despite getting back to 14-9 down Dan won 12.

Round 2:

Darrell Handley and Gary Owen had a great game, with Gary leading 7-3 early on, and then 13-8. But with the help of four 2s, Darrell got into the lead at 19-18 and despite falling 20-19 down he managed to win 20.

Josh Mordue led most of the way against Gareth W Hughes being 5-0, 12-9 and 19-14 up before Gareth ran out.

Dan Bodley was always in control against Adam Penlington, leading 14-5 early on and 18-9 before winning 14.

Gareth W Hughes went 8-2 up and despite Mick getting back to 11-8 down, he went 18-8 and finished it off 11.

Lee Brown raced 14-2 up on Gerald Merry and maintained this to win 10.

John Bailey went ahead 13-8 after a close start with Ayden Smith before Ayden got back to 13s. John went 17-13 up before Ayden got back to 18-17 down, however John won 17.

Chris Marshman was nip and tuck with Steve Bodley throughout his game, neither being more than 3 ahead at any one time. It was Chris who edged it 18.

Dan Jones after a close start with Richard Lonnia raced 15-3 up and won 7.

Round 1:

Josh Mordue went 8-2 up on Jeremy Muff before Jeremy got back to 8 across and then led 14-10, but Josh only let him score two more to win 16.

Gareth W Hughes was always in control against Aaron King, leading 8-3 and 14-4 and maintained this advantage to win 13.

Adam Penlington was 5-4 down before having a break of 15 to lead 19-5 and won 9.

Dan Bodley was 8-5 down early on against Ben Parkes before leading 14-11 and 16-14 and then running out.

Mick Hill was well in control all game against Callum Jeffrey after racing 10-0 up to win 3.

Gareth W Hughes played our first lady bowler in the competition Sarah Edmondson and after going 9-1 up was always a few ahead to win 10.

Lee Brown was another in control after going 11-0 up on Callum Jeffrey before winning 3.

Gerald Merry went 12-6 up over Jamie Brookes before Jamie got back to 13-12 down. However Gerald then had a good run of his own to win 15.

Ayden Smith led Dean Scarth 9-5 before Dean got back to 10 across. Ayden went 15-10 up and 20-12 before winning 14.

John Bailey went 6-0 up in the corners but Tommy went 12-8 up on shorter marks. John then got back in the corners to lead 16-13 and win 17.

Richard Lonnia was 7-2 down early on against Neil Wright before Richard went 9-7 and then 20-9 up and won 10.

Dan Jones raced 10-2 up on Wayne Rogers, but Wayne got back to 12-10 down. He remained two behind until 17-15 down when Dan ran out.
