Coors Meole Open 1st Weekend Fields & Preview

The Coors Meole Open starts this weekend with some top quality bowlers from here and afar taking part. The Saturday morning session sees former Champion of Champion John Bailey play, along with Josh Mordue from Yorkshire and the Potteries pairing of Lee Brown and Gary Owen. Youngsters Josh Bradburn, Ayden Smith and Aaron King all play as well as the father and son pair of Steve and Dan Bodley. The afternoon sees big competition winners Leighton Roberts, James Davison, Darren Plenderleith and Ben Harris play, along with brothers Pete and James Grimston. Castlefields have three players there; Glyn Herbert, Paul Williams and new signing Gary Neal.

Sunday morning is another featuring big competition winners such as Owen Jackson, Simon Coupe, Greg Smith, Chris Ward, Gordon Hawkins, Danny Sillitoe, Dane Hopwood, Gareth Herbert and Jon Palmer as well as our own former Shropshire county players in Derek Wright and Keith Wall and a former homester and winner Adie Rowe. Under 18s Akeel Duncan and Jack Bramley are there as they battle for the £50 best junior prize. In the afternoon and former Shropshire Merit winners Keith Pessall and Martin Lloyd are there, along with Dave Jackson from Macclesfield and Dan Edmonds of Cumbria. There are four Potteries players there as well as a quartet from Wales.
