Evening Session:
Qualifier:
Tom Roden was 11-8 up on Reece Farr before going 14-11 down. Reece then went 20-17 up but Tom ran out.
Kris Johnson was 10-5 up on Jamie King and despite Jamie getting back to 11 across Kris kicked on and won 15.
Matt Gilmore was 9-1 and 18-5 up on Rob Evans and then 20-9. But Rob found a mark over the middle to get back to 16 before Matt found a bowl to win.
Afternoon Session:
Tom Roden was only 10-9 up on Ed Proudlove but then went 17-9 up in the corners. Ed got back to 19 across but Tom managed to finish it off 19.
Reece Farr after being 7-0 up was always in control against Phil Clapham to win 13.
Kris Johnson was 8-0 up on Dave Turner but Dave got back to 16-12 down. But Kris then managed to hold on to win 16.
Jamie King was 18-3 up on Matt Rhodes with eight 2s in the corners but Matt got back to 18-12 down over the middle. Jamie though finished it 13.
Matt Gilmore was 8-0 up on Martin Gaut. Martin got back to 14-10 down but then Matt ran out.
Rob Evans was 7-0 up on Jacob Ash and extended his lead to win 7.
Bruno Heath was 8-5 down against Craig Jones but then went 11-5 up.
Afternoon Session:
Qualifiers:
Sonya Lucas went 11-5 up on Russ Prosser but Russ went 13-12 up. Sonya then led again 19-15 and won 17 to become the first lady qualifier of the competition.
Paul Beer was only 6-3 up on Rikki Higgs but then virtually ran out to win 4.
James Fitzpatrick was 9-5 up and then went 15-9 up from 9 across on Paul Hemming. But Paul hit back to lead 20-16 however Jamie then ran out.
Kirk Stevens was 6-3 down on Rich Dandy but then went 14-6 up up and kept his lead to win 10.
1st Round:
Russ Prosser was 6-2 down to start but managed to get back to lead 14-10 on Malcolm Phillips. He then extended his lead to win 13.
Sonya Lucas was 14-9 down on Craig Skidmore but then went 17-14 up. Craig got back to 18 across before Sonya ran out.
Rikki Higgs was 10-4 down early on against Nathan Dawes in the corner but changed the mark to go 14-10 up. He kept the lead till the end to win 16.
Paul Beer was 11-6 and 15-7 down on Ryan Walters but managed to get back in to win 17.
The match up of the weekend saw two former homesters Paul Hemming and Pete Farmer go head to head. It was nip and tuck till Paul went 15-9 up but Pete closed the gap to 20-19 down and lay game on but Paul got in to win 19.
James Fitzpatrick was 10-7 down on John Newey on John’s favourite mark, but then ran out.
Kirk Stevens went 16-9 down on Dave McDermott but then ran out.
Rich Dandy was 11-5 up on Alison Cotton and maintained this advantage to win 13.
