Evening Session:
Qualifiers:
Simon Homer had the early advantage to go ahead 11-5 and 17-7 over the middle. Tony though refused to give up and actually got back to 20-19 up. He led a foot bowl next end but Simon beat it. Simon then led an 18 inch wood on a 20m mark but Tony beat it. Simon played up and just clipped the block to his bowl. Tony then was just too far so Simon qualified.
Paul Williams went 7-2 down on Owen Evans but then went 9-7 up. Owen got the block back again and went 14-9 up and then 17-14 up. Paul though managed to get back in and won 18.
Scott Moseley was 5-2 down to Paul Evans, and wasn’t ahead till 15-14. Paul regained the lead at 18-16 up, but Scott ran out.
Scott Simpson took an early 10-5 lead on Elliot McGuinness and only extended his lead to win 12.
1st Round:
Tony Rhodes was level with Sam Millward before going 13-9 up and then 18-11. He went on to win 15.
Simon Homer went 10-5 up on Adam Jones. but Adam got back to 11-10 down. From 14-12 up Simon went on to 16.
Owen Evans was 8-3 down to Aaron Tapper but then went 13-9 and 18-11 up. Aaron got back to 18s but Owen won 19.
Paul Williams was level early on with Darrell Handley before going 12-8 and 15-11 up. Darrell got back to 15 across but Paul ran out.
Paul Evans went 5-2 up then 11-5 down on Anthony Gray. From 16-10 down he ran out to and from the crown.
Scott Moseley had an early 10-7 deficit to Jamie Wyer but then went 15-11 up. Jamie got back to 15 across but Scott then won 16.
Scott Simpson had a close game with Josh Bradburn until from 13-12 down he virtually ran out to win 14.
Elliot McGuinness was another close game with Will Childs but from 12-11 up he won 12.
Afternoon Session:
Qualifier:
Lee Cavill went 10-5 up on Pete Gardiner and didn’t look back as he went on to win 10.
Glynn Storer had a good start to lead 8-2 but Graham got back to 12-11 down. Glynn pushed on again to lead 18-11 but Graham got back to 20 across, however Glyn won the final end.
Ryan Prosser took an early lead of 8-3 against Ian Booth but Ian got back to lead 9-8. Ryan then had another run to go 18-10 up and won 14.
Steve Burroughs was 11-2 up on Darren Plenderleith and kept this lead as he won 14.
Round 1:
Lee Cavill was 8-3 up on Spencer Clarke but then conceded four 2s. Lee hit back to go 15-12 up but Spencer then went 20-17 ahead, however Lee ran out.
Pete Gardiner took an early 8-3 lead and then 17-7 over Darren Palin. Darren did get back to 19-15 down but Pete got the two he needed.
Glynn Storer was 8-4 down on Scott Harries, but then went 13-8 up. Glynn went 20-13 up before Scott had a comeback to get to 19 but Glynn kept his nerve to get the single he needed.
Graham Hunt and Joe Bown had a close game, with neither more than 4 ahead. It was Graham who went 13-10 down, and then ran out from 17-15 down.
Ryan Prosser went 7-1 up on Robin Clarke, and despite Robin getting back to 14-10 down, Ryan virtually run out to win 11.
Ian Booth raced 8-0 up but Chris Baker got back to lead 13-12. It was then nip and tuck to the end, when Ian won 19.
Steve Burroughs and Dave Nicholls had an even game till 11-10 to Steve, when he had a break of 8 and won 11.
Darren Plenderleith took an early 11-5 lead on Dan Hazeldine, but Dan came back to go 18-14 ahead. Darren fought back to level at 19 across and won 20.
