St Georges defeated the League Champions Wrockwardine Wood 10-4 last night to continue their good form lately. They fought back from 3-1 down, with captain Tony Rhodes leading by example winning 10, defeating the Wrockites’ debutant Greg Smith. Josh Cotton was best winner for the Champions, who move up to 2nd place as a result of their 4 points, while St Georges are now 6th.
The bottom two meet as Highley entertain Chester Road, with both teams looking to move up the table with this being a game in hand. Highley captain Reece Farr said “we are looking forward to try and record another home win tomorrow and start climbing the table after 3 away games and only 1 home. We have a couple missing and couple back from our match vs Ifton last week.” The Roaders have done well away from home so far including a win at Hanmer, but the Highley green is one very haven’t played as much on.
