Burway face Fields test, Roaders try to tame Dragons, Wrockites take on Miners

Burway face Castlefields in week 12 of the Taylor Support Shropshire Premier Bowling League. They’ve been in great form recently, winning 3 out of the last 4, but know Fields will be a tough test. Captain Jesse James says “we are missing a few key players as the Fields will be because of the IOM. All the pressure on the away team as they are fighting for the league title and we are happy with our position in the table.” The Fields are chasing the leaders Sir John Bayley, who will be looking for a big home win over Wem USC, who are struggling at the foot of the table, but did run Wrockwardine Wood close last week at home. Wrockwardine have Ifton at home, who beat Hanwood 9-5 last night. Martin Jones was their best winner 4, with Hanwood’s being Glyn Wellings 11. Wrockties captain Rob Jones is “looking forward to hosting Ifton, over the last couple of years we’ve enjoyed one or two big games with them. With a full side available we will be looking for a decent home points return to stay in touch.” Hanwood will look to build on that 5 when they host Bylet, who face another tough trip after going to Castlefields last week.

Chester Road face a tough home game against St Georges. Skipper Gary Beff is “looking forward to being back at home after another good away performance. We know St Georges are a top team but hopefully the result against them last season should give the group plenty of confidence.” The Dragons have just won once away so far, and narrowly missed out in two others, but have not had a good time in North Shropshire having got just 2 at Hanmer and 3 at Adderley this season. Hanmer have had a great first half to the season, and will be looking for a good win over Highley, but Highley have done well away so far this season, including 6 at Hanwood last away game. Meole Brace take on Adderley with both teams only having won 3 games so far this season, Meole having lost their last 4 and Adderley having won their first game in 8 last week.
