Top four all meet, North Shropshire Derby, Two of Bottom Three meet
The top four all meet in week 15 of the Taylor Shropshire Premier Bowling League. League leaders Sir John Bayley go to 4th placed St Georges, knowing they will face a tough test against an improving side who are unbeaten at home this season. Skipper Dave Lloyd says “at the half way point now and it kicks off with a hard run of games for ourselves. St Georges are a very good team in my eyes and have a few outstanding players. We will have to be at our best if we want to get any kind of result.” The Dragons will be looking to try and close the gap on the top three as they have more games at home in the second half than away. 2nd placed Castlefields host Wrockwardine Wood, going in full of confidence after winning at Hanwood on Wednesday. Wrockites skipper Rob Jones says “Castlefields are having a great season and we are under no illusion what a difficult away game this will be, but at the half way point it’s all still to play for.” Wrockwardine won at Fields last season, but know it will be much tougher this time round. There is a North Shropshire Derby as Chester Road host Hanmer. The Roaders have done well so far this season, but know Hanmer will be looking to pay them back for winning on their green at the start of the season. Hanmer skipper Ieuan Pugh says “we are expecting a tough game against a good side. A green we know well so hoping for a decent away performance to build on from our good start to the season.” Two of the bottom three meet as third bottom Bylet host Adderley, with both knowing a good result will pull them away from bottom spot, currently held by Wem USC. Wem need a big second half, but know that their visitors this week, Hanwood, will be looking for a reaction from their first home loss this season. Highley have been unbeaten at home for the first half, and will love to continue that for as long as possible as they host Meole Brace, who come into the game with lots of confidence after their big win on Wednesday. Ifton and Burway had some good spells in the first half of the season, and will be wanting to recapture that form as they look to move up the table in the second half.
