Stats from the 2023 season

As today is World Statistics Day, please find below some stats from this season.

• Every team won away this season, I believe this is the first time this has happened in the league.
• Alex Jones became only the second player after Andy Moss and Pete Farmer to win the League Averages twice.
• Alex is the first player to finish top two of the League Averages for three consecutive seasons.
• He joins Andy Moss as the only player to finish three league wins ahead of anyone else at the top of the League Averages.
• One point and one aggregate chalk separated the top two teams, the closest ever finish at the top of the league.
• Sir John Bayley scored 20 double figure hauls this season, one more than Wrockwardine Wood did last season.
• Meole Brace only used 15 players all season, only Chester Road in 2003 used less with 14.
