2023 Aim: I think every new captain’s first aim is to better the season we had last so that’s my first goal. After that I would obviously love to win something. Me and Tom want to achieve more of a team atmosphere this season and the early signs are very good. On paper we’ve put together a very strong side and we will try our best as a team to live up to some expectations that’s for sure and challenge for the title.

Comments: Sir John Bayley won the treble this season in the best ever season for the club. They took the lead in week 10 and never relinquished it. They had a slow start, with two away losses in the first four, but then won 8 straight games all with double figure points hauls, including a 14-2 win at the Bylet. A loss at Highley then followed, and another loss at St Georges two games after was followed by a 6 match winning run, all again in double figures. A loss at Wrockwardine Wood halted that run, but a critical win at Ifton in their next away game by one chalk was massive. Despite a wobble at Wem USC last game, losing 9-5, those 5 winners were enough to win the league by a single point. They beat Castlefields by 42 in the Alan Mayhew Trophy Final, and beat the same team in the County Cup Final, meaning they won three trophies to be the most successful season in the club’s history. Alex Jones also won the League Averages and Most Consecutive Wins.
