Gordon Hawkins had a close game versus Will Childs but from 9-7 up he led 19-7 and won 9.
Scott Moseley was in inspired form against Owen Cookson to lead 8-1 and then 19-4 to win 6.
Jamie Brookes was 8-2 behind Chris Gill before getting back to 8 across. He went 16-13 ahead but then 20-16 down, before running out.
Jon Palmer led 14-2 on Chris Ward and kept this advantage to win 11.
1st Round
Gordon Hawkins trailed 7-4 against Paul Williams early on and then 12-9. But Gordon then went 18-13 up and won 15.
Will Childs was 7-3 down on Mark Lunn but then went 13-8 up and kept this lead to win 13.
Owen Cookson went 14-6 up on Pete Nicholls and despite Pete getting back to 19-14 won 15.
Scott Moseley raced 15-3 up on Carl Fielding before Carl got back to 15-13 down. But Scott kicked on again to lead 19-13 and won 17.
Jamie Brookes was 6-0 up on Garry Owen but then 7-6 down. He went 18-11 ahead before Garry got back to 18 across. It was then nip and tuck before Jamie won 20.
Chris Gill went 7-3 up on Tony Rhodes and widened his lead to 16-5 before winning 8.
Chris Ward always led against Tony Gill to go 13-5 up and kept this advantage to win 12.
Jon Palmer was 4-1 down versus John Newey but got back to lead 14-9. Newey then trailed 14-11 before Palmer ran out.
