“Firstly we’d like to thank Allscott for providing the venue, it’s a superb venue that has all the attributes of becoming Shropshire’s number 1 venue. We are delighted to have won this competition for the 10th time against a very good Sir John Bayley side. Having gone 14 behind with two of the back four both going 9-0 behind & then having the late news that the games number 1, in some eyes, was not going to make it, it was looking bleak. But as always with any Castlefields side, we showed resilience and all of the battling qualities required to win. Special mention to Adie Rowe who stepped in for Callum, he was superb and after all the heartache he had last year with the captaincy, I think was very fitting for him to be man of the match.”
