Taylor Support Shropshire Premier Bowls League
Bottom & Top two at home, Hanmer face Wrockites
The bottom and top two are at home in week 24 of the Taylor Support Shropshire Premier Bowling League. Bottom placed Horsehay host Wem USC who won at second bottom Bylet just two weeks ago. Spokesman Steve Reeves says “we are looking forward to welcoming Wem to Horsehay this evening in what we hope be a good game. As always we will be looking to get a home win with a good performance along with it to close the gap on Bylet above. Last week’s 5 points away from home along with the effort we put in should stand us in good stead we hope.” The Bylet will want to bounce back from that home loss as they host Adderley, who until the last couple of away games had been doing ok away from home. Captain Cheryl Caswell says “we look forward to what will be another tough match for us against our friends from Adderley, who I’m sure will be looking for an away win. For us it’s just about trying to get as many as we can, not worrying about those around us and enjoy what’s left of a difficult season.”
The top two are at home as they look to gain an advantage on one another. League leaders Sir John Bayley host Meole Brace, who don’t have a great record at the Bayley, while Castlefields take on St Georges. St Georges skipper Josh Bradburn says it is a “difficult game tonight against a super strong side. We are looking to go and compete and see how we match up.” Hanmer face a tough home game against Wrockwardine Wood who come off a good home win last week. Skipper Matt Beeston says “we look forward to another challenging game. We know what to expect from them off the green but we will try our best to do the talking on the green!” Ifton look to recapture 3rd place as they host Burway, who will want to bounce back from a disappointing home result last week. Highley travel to Hanwood with both teams looking for a top half finish, Hanwood being 9 points ahead of their visitors.
