Hoss face Bylet test, Wem look for win, Mayhew Final Rematch
Horsehay will look to build on their first win last week when they travel to Bylet in week 9 of the Taylor Support Shropshire Premier Bowling League. They won 11-3 last week against Wem USC to breath new life into their campaign and know they will need to build on that when they travel to a very familiar green at Bylet. But Bylet come off a great win at Hanwood last week, moving into the top half of the table, so will be full of confidence. Wem USC need a response from last week and look for their first win since the opening day when they host Hanmer, who also need a reply from just 2 winners at home last week. Captain Andy Marshall says “we are expecting a tough game against a good Hanmer side. We are hoping to bounce back from last week’s disappointing result.” There is a rematch of the Audlem Special Events Alan Mayhew Trophy Final when winners Ifton travel to Castlefields. Fields skipper Steve Peach says “we welcome Ifton to Queen Street knowing we will be in for a tough night’s work. They will be looking to bounce back from a heavy home defeat last week to SJB, but we’ve been in good form as of late so we will be bang up for this one and hopefully come away with a decent result.”
League leaders Sir John Bayley host Adderley looking to continue their fine form and stay top, with Adderley struggling lately having only got 7 points from their last three away games. Wrockwardine Wood will be looking for another big home win like their last two as they host Hanwood, who will be wanting to bounce back from that shock home loss to the Bylet. Burway take on St Georges with both teams having been involved in 7-7 results last week and finding themselves in the top 6 currently. Highley got 7 winners at St Georges last week and will look to build on that with a home win against Meole Brace, who is another team looking for a response after just 3 winners at home last week.
