Bylet face Wrockwardine Wood in week 14 of the Taylor Support Shropshire Premier Bowling League. Captain Cheryl Caswell says “it’s another difficult match. Our visitors know they need a big win to stay with those at the top and are massive favourites to get that win. That takes the pressure off us especially now the holiday season is upon us and we, like other teams, are struggling with availability. But having secured some good points so far this first half, particularly on the road, we have already exceeded our own expectations so far and look forward to tonight’s game which is hopefully played in the right spirit.” League leaders Sir John Bayley host Meole Brace, and Castlefields take on St Georges, with both teams knowing they need a big win to keep up with each other. Their visitors will be looking to bounce back from home defeats on Wednesday, but know it won’t be easy against their rampant hosts.
Burway will look to build on the 7 winners they got at Highley as they host the same team. Skipper Adam Dovey says “hopefully take that result into tonight and continue our good home form but know it’ll be a tough game.” Highley will be looking to repeat the result, but know Burway are unbeaten at home so far this season. Hanmer will also look to not waste their 6 winners at Adderley as they host their North Shropshire rivals. Joint captain Dave Ellison says “a different venue tonight with ourselves having home advantage so I think both sides would take a reversal of last night’s score if you offered it to them now.” The Adders will want to make sure they keep their hosts below them being 9 points ahead. Horsehay make the long trip to Ifton, hoping to replicate their 3 winners there last season, while Ifton will look for their fifth straight double figure score as they aim to try and catch the top three. Wem USC host Hanwood hoping for a win to keep away from any trouble, but Hanwood are in good form and have already won away this season at Wrockwardine Wood.
