Taylor Support Shropshire Premier Bowls League
There are 5 qualifying places available tonight with 36 players looking to book their place on finals night on Friday 26th September.
At Hanwood, 2023 winner Nick Jones looks to qualify, along with Shifnal Open winner Clay Flattley. Four Meole bowlers are also there, including former or current captains Nick Davies and Chris Jones and Ladies All England winner Tracy Bound.
Former Junior All England Winner Andy Armstrong is at Meole Brace, as well as former Meole Open semi finalist Tom Palmer. Rich Lawson qualified for this last year and is a former County Merit Champion, while Ash Wellings won the County Handicap this season and Gary Whitehall reached last year’s final.
Wrockwardine Wood sees County Merit winner Spencer Clarke take part, as well as All England Finalist Reece Farr, and last year’s Play Off player of the match winner Gareth Jones.
Newport has the most players there with 15, with last year’s Newport Open finalists Pete Grimston and Scott Harries expected to be favourites to get through. Ladies Spring Waterloo winner Cheryl Caswell is there, as well as British Parks Merit winner Tom Killen, Edgmond Open Champion Josh Cotton, Norman Ford Memorial Winner Joe Killen, who all won those this season. Former Dennis Lewis Open winner Dan Taylor and former Junior Merit winner Aaron King also take part.
Scratch time is 6.30 p.m.
