Well done to Castlefields on winning the league for the 12th time.
Their 14-0 success over Horsehay meant they finished 13 clear at the top of the league, setting numerous records along the line, which will be explored in another post.
Captain Steve Peach says it was “another full house to bring the league season to an end. We have been incredible again this season, we are always fully aware of the challenges that the opposing clubs offer and to come out on top yet again is a massive effort from all involved. To have 12 players in the top 27 of the division averages shows amazing consistency throughout the team. We have had a good balance in the side this season with young Rhys freshening things up and at the other end of the spectrum the experience that Richie and Wayne bring is invaluable. On behalf of the club, we’d like to extend our thanks to Rob and the SPBL committee for running a superbly organised league for us all to play in again.
