Taylor Support Shropshire Premier Bowls League
Fields seal title, Hanwood get 5th, Wem take 8th off Meole
Castlefields sealed their 12th Taylor Support Premier Bowling League title in style as they beat Horsehay 14-0. Rich Goddard was their best winner 21-3 as they finished 13 clear of second placed Sir John Bayley. The Bayley defeated Highley 13-1 with Reece Farr leading the way 21-5. Jamie Holdcroft was the winner for Highley as they finished in 7th, their highest ever finish in the league. Hanwood held onto 5th place with a 11-5 win at Hanmer. Best winner was Rich Lawson 11 and Jacob Jones 11 for the hosts, who finish a disappointing season in 13th place. Burway had to settle for 6th, the same as last season, as they beat Wrockwardine Wood 10-4. Liam Dovey was their best winner 8 and Tom Killen best for the Wrockites 11. Wem USC took 8th place off Meole Brace as they beat them 10-4. George Williams led the way for them 5 while Jen Rogers was best for Meole 13 who finish in 9th. St Georges finished their tough season in 10th, their lowest placing in the league, after 5 winners at Bylet. Matt Rhodes was their best 9 and Chris Davis Bylet’s best 21-6. Adderley’s 3 winners at Ifton kept them above Bylet in 11th, Ed Proudlove their best 21-11. For Ifton it was Craig Griffiths and Nicky Jones best 21-7.
Castlefields win the league by 13 to Sir John Bayley. Horsehay finish 25 points behind Hanmer at the bottom. Scott Simpson finished 3 wins ahead of Owen Jackson and Rich Goddard, all three players earning prize money. 5 players won the Most Consecutive Wins with 11; Scott Simpson, Owen Jackson, Dave East, Jamie King & Reece Farr.
