Play Off Final Draw & Preview

Horsehay meet Woore again for a place in the 2026 Taylor Support Shropshire Premier Bowling League. 12 months on from Horsehay’s 8 chalk win over Woore at Bicton, the two teams meet again at Monkmoor this time to see who takes the 14th place in next year’s lineup. Many players survive from that match, with Horsehay hoping last year’s Player of the Match Gareth Jones performs again in the front four. Jack Clayton didn’t play in it last year, and lines up in a strong front four for both teams, with Jack playing Ian MacDonald. Andy Moss again leads the line for Woore, and takes on John Roberts Jnr, while Gary Beff returns from holiday to come into the side and plays Gareth. Chris Grocott will hope to bounce back from his loss to Pete Farmer on Wednesday with a win against Olly Harris, who performed well last year.

Both teams have seven players from last year who remain, with two of those playing each other at number 8 as Rich Simmonds takes on Laura Hallsworth. Steve Rogers takes part in his 6th Play Off final, and will hope to recreate the form that saw him win on Wednesday when playing Horsehay captain Andy Garbett. Craig Baugh will look to play as well as he did last year, and has Carl Hinton, who sat out last year’s game. Derek Wright will aim to use his experience as he takes on Rob Clarke, one of Horsehay’s new signings this season.

The action starts at 7 p.m.

There is an admission fee of £1, and a raffle will be run with multiple prizes including wine, chocolates and biscuits.

Parking is available down Clive Road opposite the green. Please respect the neighbours when parking here.

There is a Player of the Match award again.
