Comments: Hanmer had a season of struggle as they finished in 13th place, their lowest since finishing bottom in 2018. However there were highlights. They reached the Semi Finals of the Audlem Special Events Alan Mayhew Trophy after beating Meole Brace and Woore. They also were only one of three teams to defeat Sir John Bayley, with a 9-5 victory in August their best result of the season. They never really looked like finishing bottom though, having had a good start at home with 32 points from their first 3 games, but two away whitewashes and a winless run of 8 in the first half of the season saw them near the bottom of the table for the rest of the season. They did manage four home victories in the second half of the season to keep them clear of bottom spot, including that one over the Bayley, and got 7 winners at the Bylet, their best away results of the season. They did use 28 players but seemed a more settled side than the previous year.
2026 Aims: To keep who they played this season and aim for another more settled squad, another season at home for those newer players will help to make Hanmer a fortress again.
