Hanmer face familiar foe, Highley have Bayley test, Ifton look for home comforts
Hanmer face a familiar foe in week 4 of the Taylor Support Shropshire Premier Bowling League. They play Wem USC who got their first win last week at home to Hanwood. Joint captain Dave Ellison says “tonight we welcome our local rivals Wem to Hanmer. This is always a closely fought game and I expect nothing different tomorrow. We welcome a couple of players back and the weather is glorious so no excuses at all tonight.” Highley face their toughest test so far as they host Sir John Bayley, who know they need a win there to keep up with league leaders Castlefields, knowing they should get a big win over Bylet. Bylet were whitewashed at Meole Brace in their last away game, but did pick up a win over Hanmer last week so will have some confidence travelling there. Meole Brace will look to build on that whitewash as they entertain an Adderley side who will be boosted by the return of Connor and Gary Whitehall into the team. Ifton have had a rough couple of weeks especially as they have deserved more than the 3 winners they have got away from home. But they will look to follow up their opening 12-2 home win over the Bayley with one over St Georges, who themselves will be buoyed by that win over rivals Wrockwardine Wood last week. Wrockwardine entertain Burway looking to bounce back, with Burway wanting to back up that big win over Ifton last week. Hanwood take on Woore with both teams having had great starts to the season on what could be a quick Hanwood green given the weather.
