Wem USC win at Woore

Wem USC shocked Woore by winning 10-6 at their green. Captain Curtis Metcalfe says “away to Woore was always going to be difficult but as I said to my players before the game we come here with a good amount of knowledge of the green from visiting for many years now in the Whitchurch League and so we proved. We played with a lot of confidence throughout the team all night on and off the green and we got the result we deserved I felt. With having 2 19 defeats an 18 and 17 shows how close we went to getting even more points. The whole team contributed so well to the aggregate but to pick out two games was two of our defeats with Ian Metcalfe being 19-12 down and coming back to 19 and Tim Jordan was 10-1 down and finishing with 17, it’s in games like that these close aggregate scores can be won and lost but for us this time we won. We hope to take this good run of form we are on into our game tomorrow at home to Bylet.” Scott Thomas was their best winner 9, with Laura Hallsworth best for Woore 12.
