Taylor Support Shropshire Premier Bowls League
Castlefields have gone top of the Taylor Support Shropshire Premier Bowling League after winning 12-4 at Wem USC. They started well, leading 3-1 off the first four, Callum Wraight winning 5, while Tom Palmer edged out Darren Fitzpatrick 20 in a thriller to keep his 100% record going. Tim Jordan was Wem’s best winner of the night 11. The Fields then won an 18 and 19 game in the middle to lead 5-3 but by just 8 chalks as Colin Smith won 12 and Phil Jones 16. When Luke Boniface then won 14 for Wem they were only a chalk behind, but Wayne Rogers won 8 which sealed the aggregate for the Fields. Mike Beer fought back from around 15-11 down to win 17 and Adam Jones nearly lost a 12-4 lead but won 20 to seal a good night for the Champions.
