Hanwood bounce back, Adderley edge out Woore, Ditto at top
Hanwood bounced back to defeat Wrockwardine Wood 10-4 in week 14 of the Taylor Support Shropshire Premier Bowling League. Best winner was Hayden Lewis 10 for them, with Joe Killen and Matt Ealey best for the visitors 18. Adderley edged out local rivals Woore 10-4 and by just 7 chalks. Ed Proudlove was their best winner 11 with Woore skipper Dan Hand best for them 10. Elsewhere in North Shropshire Ifton won 10-6 at Hanmer, Nick Hughes and Leighton Roberts best winners 4. For Hanmer it was Mel Jenkins best winner 8. It’s as you were at the top with Castlefields and Sir John Bayley as they both won 13-1. The Fields beat St Georges by over 100 again with Adam Jones best winner 5 and Martin Gaut the sole winner for the Dragons 16. The Bayley defeated the Bylet by 131 with Dan Taylor and Paul Evans the best of six single figure winners 21-3. Bylet’s winner was Gavin Bridge 15. Meole Brace beat Wem USC 10-4, the same scoreline that was in the reverse fixture. Best winner for Meole was Craig Wilson and Andrew Whitman 5 with Wem’s being Simon Lewis 9. Burway beat Highley 9-5 and by just 8 chalks, best winners being Lee Wilding and Ben Allen 11. Opposition captain Simon Rhodes was best for them 6.
Castlefields are still 12 ahead of Sir John Bayley and another 13 ahead of Wrockwardine Wood. Bylet are 25 behind Hanmer and another 2 adrift of Adderley. Tom Palmer leads Joe Killen on 13 wins, with Joe now having overtaken Tom with 11 consecutive wins.
