Woore win away, Meole win well, Bayley gain
Woore won away in week 15 of the Taylor Support Shropshire Premier Bowling League. They won 12-4 at Hanmer to make up for their loss away at Adderley the week before. Captain Dan Hand says “we headed to Hanmer looking for the win and we came away with exactly that. We got ahead early and never really looked back. Andy Moss somehow just keeps improving and it was good to see young Ben Hinton believe in himself plus a great fight back from Steve Rogers.” Martin Lloyd was their best winner 5, while Mike Gilpin was best for the home side 8. Meole Brace had a great 13-1 win over St Georges, potentially meaning the first time that a team has had only one winner in 3 successive games. Skipper Chris Jones says it was “a very good home result which perhaps flattered us on the night as some tight games either going our way or some comebacks from St Georges players just falling short on a quick night for all, we move on to the next one looking to carry this result forward.” Best winner for them Craig Wilson 3, with Gordon Hawkins best for the Dragons with an incredible 21-2 win. Sir John Bayley gained on league leaders Castlefields as they beat Ifton 10-4. Paul Evans was best winner 7 with Robin Bennett best winner 3 for the visitors. Castlefields could only win 9-7 at Burway, Tom Palmer best winner 9. For the home side it was Richard Lane best winner 13. Hanwood continued their good home form with a 12-2 win over Adderley, led by Mark Shore’s 5 win. For the Adders it was Ed Proudlove best winner 7. Wrockwardine Wood also won 12-2 against Wem USC. Steve Roberts was their best winner 6 and Gareth Davies best for Wem 7. Bylet had their best away result of the season as they got 4 winners at Highley. Ian Sturdy was the best of those 21-11, as Jamie Taylor was best for Highley 3.
Castlefields are 11 ahead of Sir John Bayley, and another 11 ahead of Wrockwardine Wood. Bylet are 25 behind Adderley and Hanmer. Tom Palmer and Joe Killen are on 14 wins, with Joe Killen now on 12 consecutive wins.
