Taylor Support Shropshire Premier Bowls League
The Flowfit Shropshire Premier Bowling League would like to congratulate their own player Rob Roden for winning yesterday’s Shropshire Merit, also sponsored by Flowfit. Rob beat fellow Premier players along the win, his uncle Rich Lawson, former winner Callum Wraight of Castlefields, his clubmate Aaron King, Meole Brace’s Darren Wellings and in the final against another former winner Pete Farmer.
Rob was a big part of getting Bowring to the Premier League in 2008, winning 16 against Jim Fletcher in the playoff win against Donnington Wood in 2008 on St Georges Top Green when they won by 30. He won 14 games in his first season for the team, then won at least double figures each season with his best being 16 games in 2013. This season he has won 9 out of 11 games so far. Rob was also part of the team that reached the semis of the Senior Interleague this season.
Also congratulations to Darren Wellings, Chester Road’s Andy Moss and Newport’s Pete Farmer for reaching the All England on Saturday 25th July at Florence.
