Wrockwardine Wood Open 2015 Preview

The Wrockwardine Open reaches its conclusion this Sunday from 11 a.m. and there are 9 Flowfit Shropshire Premier Bowling League players in the 16 players who remain. Former champion and Sir John Bayley player Scott Simpson is favourite to regain the crown he won two years ago, especially considering he lost in the final to Matt Fellows last year and recently won the Lea Hall Open. But he faces a tough game against Warwick and Worcester’s James Seville to start with. Four players from Champions Newport take part, but two of them meet in the 1st round, inaugural winner Pete Farmer and Mark Selley. Vice-captain Dave Rhodes takes on another former winner Lynn Prichatt and Alan Davidson takes on Castlefield’s Andy Duckett. Joint Most Consecutive Wins winner Rich Lawson takes on former Hadley USC player Jan Pratley while the two remaining premier league players meet 1st round, League President and Sir John Bayley captain Tom Roden taking on Hadley USC’s Jamie Wyer. Former Shropshire Premier League Merit Winner Mike Beer takes on second favourite Darren Plenderleith from North Midlands first round, with the other tie being the George’s Mark Street taking on Matt Horton from Atherstone Cons.
