Comments:
Chester Road had a season to forget as they finished in their worst place and points in the history of the league. They never really got going after losing narrowly at home to Castlefields first game of the season, but their away form wasn’t too bad scoring 3 or 4 the first few games, mainly out of the back four. They won 12-2 at home to the bottom two sides to move them up the table, and having gaining 5 and 6 at Hadley and Ifton respectively, and then beating Wem USC 12-2 at home, found themselves in 7th place. But after gaining 1 at Castlefields, where the performance didn’t reflect the scoreline, their away form suffered, scoring only 2 at Newport and Bowring and 3 at Archibald Worthington. But they did win 4 home games on the bounce until they ended their season with a home defeat against Ifton.
They had a good Alan Mayhew Trophy run reaching the semi finals after beating Wem USC and then Sir John Bayley, but dipped out by 12 against Burway. They had to withdraw from the Pool B as they had other cup commitments.
