West Brom CCF Open Finals Preview

A super seven Flowfit Shropshire Premier Bowling League players take part in the last 32 of the CCF Open at West Bromwich Football Supporters Club hoping to take home the £1,200 first prize. First up is Mark Picknell of Wrockwardine Wood playing against Darren Plenderleith of the Greville, while Sir John Bayley’s Chris Ward takes on Chris Brown of Lower Hopton in Yorkshire. St Georges’ Peter Grimston plays Paul Stretton from Belvedere Park and in the bottom, Andy Moss of Chester Road, who has won two MVPs in two matches so far this season, plays another Greville player in Richard Burdett. Wayne Rogers has the unenviable task of playing one of the top players in the game Graeme Wilson of Lower Hopton while just below them in the draw two team mates play each other, ECC open winner Callum Wraight and former League Averages winner Paul Williams from Castlefields.

Also in the draw is last year’s winner and former Newport player Russ Pegram, who takes on Dave Edwards of Walsgrave first round. Other big names include Gary Ellis, Ben Harris, Lee Kington, Stuart Mort, Tommy Johnstone and John Bailey. With the weather looking good it should be a cracking day of bowls and good luck to all the Premier League players taking part.
