Andy Moss reaches West Brom CCF Open final

Chester Road’s Andy Moss had a super run to the final of the CCF Open at West Bromwich Football Supporter Club but just ran out of steam losing 19 to Yorkshire’s Kez Smith. Andy had led 16-8 in the final before a resilient fightback from his opponent took him over the line. Andy had beaten two other Flowfit Shropshire Premier League Players on the way, both 14, Wayne Rogers of Burway in the 2nd round, who had beaten Graeme Wilson 20 in his 1st game, and Castlefields’ Callum Wraight, who had taken care of team mate Paul Williams 12 in the 1st round and then Ben Harris 14 in the 2nd. Andy also enjoyed a fine 21-8 win in the Semi Finals over North Lancs & Fylde’s Stuart Mort. St Georges’ Peter Grimston won his 1st round game against Paul Stretton 12 but then lost to former team mate Russ Pegram 14. The other two league bowlers in the field, Mark Picknell from Wrockwardine Wood and Chris Ward of Sir John Bayley, both lost 1st round.
